choreographer, director, composer
Following an education in music (piano and cello) he began his dance education at the Academy for music and performing arts, Frankfurt am Main and graduated as a dancer at the "Heinz-Bosl-Stiftung" in Munich. Amongst others he worked as a dancer with John Neumeier's "Hamburg Ballet".
Since 1994 Jan Pusch works successfully as a freelance choreographer/director and composer, and has worked as a guest choreographer/director for various theatres and companies.
From 2007 to 2010 he was choreographer in residence at the Staatstheater Oldenburg, creating several premieres for the nordwest Tanzcompagnie. 2010/2011 is his first season as director of Staatstheater Tanz Braunschweig.
Awards
1999, First Prize at "3. Internationales SoloTanzTheater Festival, Stuttgart" for dance solo „Please help yourself“ .
Critiques Award at the "Int. Wettbewerb für Choreografen", Hannover 2001 for "Into the Blue", Solo I.
Jan Puschs productions have toured nationally as well as internationally, performing in Beirut, Ankara, Thessaloniki, Prague, Malta, touring Russia, Latinamerika, India and Japan.
