Friendly Fire
The term »friendly fire« denotes accidental firing towards one's own troops. While focussing exclusively on a single aim - the defeat of the enemy in battle - all other strategies including attentiveness or precaution are no longer relevant. The only guiding principle remaining is: shoot on anything that moves.
Faster, higher, further, more fit, more beautiful, more rich – whenever winning or „being at the top“ is the only aim and competition the only strategy, we, and with us our bodies, become mere means to an end. Our vision is narrowed, communication restricted, not caring about the question of why we do what we do, and how much collateral damage we might cause - to ourselves or to others.
